Where Nature, History, Art, and Conservation meet.
Love animals? Me too.
I study wildlife conservation strategy & economics and, taxidermy & conservation history. And I give lectures and seminars on a range of topics that fall into those categories. When I have time, I give natural history museum habitat diorama tours, and teach hands-on beginner taxidermy classes.
My greatest love has always been animals, then history. Animals and history brought me to taxidermy. Historical taxidermy brought me to museums. Museum taxidermy brought me to the history of conservation and modern wildlife conservation strategy. And all of that brought me to the study of hunting in America and around the world.
I wrote a book
"Wildlife conservation economics and conservation history with way too many movie references and one story about how I got paid to poop in a box for science. High art meets memoir in this animal-centric Freakonomics."
- Me, an expert.
I give really great talks
Seriously. I don’t even feel bad bragging about this because they are so fun. They can be as specific as the role New York State played in the birth of the American conservation movement, or a history of The Royal Family’s connection to Michigan lamprey, or they can be general like Wildlife Economics 101, exploring the intersection of Animals, Food, & Death Culture, or the History of Taxidermy. I often make custom talks for special events. Those cost a little more. Talks are as fun and entertaining as they are informative. He said, declaratively.
